Making a nomination for a Certificate or Medal of Merit award?

Each year, a Chapter may nominate existing members for Merit Awards.

The Certificates of Merit may be awarded to a member who has made significant contributions to their campus media. The Certificate of Merit is a printed citation, which SCJ makes available to chapters at no cost. Two Certificates of Merit can be awarded each year by an active SCJ Chapter. They should be made for real distinction and are not mandatory for each active chapter each year. They should be presented in recognition of superior work.

One Medal of Merit may be awarded each year to a chapter member making an outstanding contribution to the advancement of college journalism. The Medal of Merit is a medallion. The cost, which is $12.00, is paid by the chapter making the award. The chapter can also have the medallion engraved.
